Last
issue, I told you about the new BoatU.S. Angler program. Well,
it was brand new…so new, in fact, it didn’t make it to the
public until after we went to print. Mike Pellerin, the
program’s director, just gave me a report after returning from a
test of the program at the Tulsa Boat Show and later in St.
Louis.
“Boy, I wish I had this when I got stranded on
the water last year!” “How can you do it so cheap?” These were
common comments from the extremely interested show attendees
after stopping by the booth and getting the low-down on the
program.
It’s obvious that BoatU.S., long the “AAA” of
boating for the coastal and offshore crowd, has hit a nerve with
the inland boating angler. With benefits tailored to us
tournament fishermen, such as over-the-road and on-the-water
towing, launch ramp rebates, fishermen specific boat and tackle
insurance and many, many other benefits we outlined last month,
I knew it would be a hit.
After the Tulsa and St. Louis Shows, Pellerin
attended the Bassarama in Richmond and found the same warm
welcome. The response to the program in these “test” markets
will result in its big roll-out in months to come.
You’ll find more information on the program
throughout this and the upcoming Summer issue of BCD. In the
meantime, go online at
www.boatusangler.com to learn more, or just give me a call
or drop a note and I’ll be sure to get the information you need.
I’m also going to get my hands on a supply of
brochures to take to my next club meeting. This program is just
too good to keep to myself. If you want to do the same, just let
me know. I’ll make sure you get ’em.
