Eastside Bass Anglers

Eastside Bass Anglers’ Ernie Siegel and club president Paul Middleton are shown at a club weigh-in.

The Eastside Bass Anglers have been an active club for the last 13 years. Currently we have 24 members. The club averages 10-12 club tournaments each year.

At the end of the year we give trophies to the Angler of the Year, first runner-up, second runner up and a trophy for Lunker of the Year.

We conduct our tournaments in the northeast portion of Pennsylvania, which is referred to as the Pocono region. The name of our club came about due to the fact that the majority of the original members lived on the east side of the Susquehanna River, which happens to be on of the primary smallmouth rivers in the country.

Due to the fact that the average bass (smallmouth and largemouth) is only 1 1/2 pounds, it usually takes about 50 pounds to win Angler of the Year.
The average Lunker of the Year runs between 3 1/2- to 5 1/2-pounds.
We consider our club a “working man’s club,” and we keep membership and tournament fees to a minimum. Every year we either hold an open tournament to benefit the handicapped or make donations to a charitable organization. We give to the autistic and mentally challenged children, because we believe they are worthy causes.

Anyone interested in joining our club or having questions about it can contact the president Paul Middleton at (570) 693-3905.
