Bullet Weights® Screw-In Weights Now Offered in Ultra Steel®

ALDA, Neb. – The highly popular Screw-In Weights from Bullet Weights® are now being offered in Ultra Steel®. Introduced to the Bullet Weights lead product line last year, the Screw-In Weights are designed especially for anglers who like to peg their weights when using a Texas rig for fishing.

On the bottom of the steel bullet-shaped sinkers is a stainless steel “corkscrew” device that makes it easy to thread on a plastic bait and hold it in place next to the weight, thus eliminating the need to peg the weight which can cause line damage. All of Bullet Weights Screw-In Weights include a plastic insert that is essential to prevent the line from twisting around the corkscrew (which can cut the line) when applying the bait or at hookset.

“Our philosophy continues to be to offer anglers the widest array of sinker options possible,” Bullet Weights President Joe Crumrine said. “Our lead Screw-In Weights have been in high demand so we wanted to offer anglers the advantages of non-toxic steel in that same sinker.”

Because of the “hardness” quality of steel, the weights offer more sensitivity, less deformation and have more fish-attracting noise than lead counterparts.

Bullet Weights Ultra Steel Screw-In Weights are available in natural or black color in the following sizes: 1/16 oz, 1/8 oz and 3/16 oz. The Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price is $3.55 per 4-piece clam pack for natural color and $3.90 per clam pack for black.

Headquartered in Alda, Neb., Bullet Weights is a leading manufacturer of fishing sinkers and accessories. They offer fishing sinkers made of lead, steel (Ultra Steel®), tin (Ultra Tin®), tungsten and brass. Bullet Weights products are available in fishing tackle retailers, sporting goods stores and sporting goods departments of mass merchants. For more information visit www.bulletweights.com.

Gamkatsu’ Skip Gap Hook

The new Skip Gap Hook from Gamakatsu is the hook every dock skippin’ Bass angler has been waiting for. Many soft plastics will slide off of the offset or simply come off when thrown hard against the water in an attempt to skip it under a dock.

This is especially true on really hot days when the plastic can get extra soft. This unique patent pending hook is designed to hold soft plastics firmly in place so that no matter how hard you throw it, the plastic bait stays put. Unlike other hooks that have attempted to do the same thing, there is no special rigging required for this hook. Simply Texas rig it like any other wide gap style hook and it’s ready to go. The wide gap is built to handle thicker baits like tubes, but is also ideal for stick type baits and regular soft plastic worms.

Owner’s New TwistLOCK Hooks

Owner’s unique TwistLOCK™ have “Spring-On-Shank” (SOS-patent pending) and are attached to the hook’s eye for incredible “non-slip” bait-holding power when fished in grass for hard-hitting bass. These hooks are available in 5132, 5135 and 5136 models.

Perfect for weedless-style Carolina or Texas rigging, these hooks make sure the nose of the worm is “permanently” secured by screwing it onto the TwistLOCK™ coil spring before the final positioning of the hook point.

These hook’s “open” gap with parallel point allows for more positive and effective hook sets. Features include a standard, all-purpose forged wire shank, Super Needle Point, and black chrome finish.

Power Pro Newest Color is Phantom Red

Innovative Textiles has introduced a new color in its PowerPro line called Phantom Red.

To understand the fishing benefit of this new braided line one must understand the behavior of light as it penetrates water. As line descends  below the surface, water  absorbs the wavelengths  of light selectively, one by  one, as depth increases.

Red is the first color to disappear,  at a depth of 15 feet (which is why  underwater photographers often  use red filters to restore red  colors in their pictures). While many factors such as total light intensity, water clarity  and time of day or year can alter the depth to which colors  are visible, one thing is constant:  PowerPro’s commitment  to the serious angler.

Amazingly, most fish can see in color, even distinguish  complementary colors and up to 24 spectral hues with many  species possessing color vision similar to that of man.  But  Phantom Red gives fish a false perception of reality and its  appearance becomes a mere apparition.

Other Power Pro braided lines include: PowerPro Ice Line,  Downrigger Replacement Cable and Hollow Core.

Knots Better With New Stren Super Knot

No mater the knot, new Stren Super Knot line makes a better, stronger knot. Stren Super Knot is specially engineered to take abuse and keep the pressure on the fish—instead of the angler.

Reliable and dependable, Stren Super Knot uses a self-lubricating technology to eliminate the burn that comes from cinching down a knot. In fact, Stren Super Knot is scientifically proven to outperform competitive lines in strength-retention.

This line gives peace of mind on the water—regardless of an angler’s knot-tying skills.

“The last thing I want to be worried about when I am wrestling with a big bass is whether or not my knot will hold. With Stren Super Knot I know my knots will be invincible,” said Stren Pro-staff member Bill Dance.
The line is available in clear and lo-vis green colors and 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 17, 20, 25 and 30 pound tests.
