Cabin Fever Bass Club was a non-federated bass club established
out of Waltham, Mass., in 1999. In the early months of 2004, we
as a club decided for the good of all club members and the club
itself, it would be best for us to join the MassBass Federation.
We were founded on the principles of bass
fishermen/women throughout the country that have concern for the
improvement of the environment and its resources. We promote
sportsmanship and friendly exchange among fellow members and to
provide a basis for learning and improving bass fishing skills
and techniques. We look to support youth activities, and when
possible, to become involved in any conservation and legislative
issues affecting the environment.
Above all, we feel the number one priority is
the fishery itself. We consider Cabin Fever Bass Club an
entry-level club for most, where one can sample tournament
fishing and enjoy friendly competition. A few members of our
club have many years of tournament fishing experience and just
love to fish and compete. Others are very new to the sport but
benefit from the other members’ knowledge and experience. If
friendship, experience and concern for our interests are your
pursuit, please accept our invitation to CABIN FEVER BASS CLUB!
This club was started in July of 1999. Our
tournament season will consist of club tourneys, fun/team
tourneys and hopefully some club outings. We have monthly
meetings to discuss club business and fishing, of course. We
fish various waters throughout Massachusetts as well as an
occasional trip out of state to fish some larger bodies of
water.
The club will have all MassBass Federation and
B.A.S.S. rules in effect. All members compete against each other
as equals, whether you are a boater or non-boater. Club members
must enjoy friendly competition and be willing to share ideas
and strategy. The club expects new members to be active in all
club activities. This includes attendance at meetings,
tournaments, and participation in club projects.
There is a $30 initiation fee to join the
club, and $30 for membership dues, $30
Federation dues and $15 National dues each year ($105 total for
the first year, then $75 annually afterward) to help pay for
club costs (trophies, banquet, club trip, etc.). Additional
tournament entry fees are required ($25 for tourney and optional
$5 extra for big fish).
