Biosonix Systems is introducing two new freshwater sound
series for the BSX Fish Activator. Crawfish “Crawl ’N’ Pop” and
“Worm Feed” sound signatures will be available on compact flash
cards for playback on the BSX T-200 P model.
The BSX Crawfish “Crawl ’N’ Pop” series is a collection of
naturally occurring crawfish sounds including subtle crawl
sounds, distressed popping sounds and predator attack sounds.
The BSX “Worm Feed” is a collection of sound signatures
produced from actual recordings of sounds made from live worms
being attacked, crunched and swallowed by bass and other
predator species.

For serious anglers, Garmin offers the Fishfinder 340C – a
full-featured sonar that offers a sunlight readable five-inch,
diagonal, 320 x 234 pixel full-color TFT display. The Fishfinder
340C is offered in either a dual frequency configuration—or, for
inland anglers needing a wider fish-finding cone, a dual beam
model. Water temperature, a round flasher-style display, and an
A-scope display also come standard on the Fishfinder 340.
In addition, the 340C is also enabled with Garmin’s new CANet™
-- a one-megabit Controller Area Network that allows users to
connect their unit to one of the new GPSMAP® 200, 300, or
400-series chartplotter. This allows boaters to read sonar
displays on chartplotters located elsewhere in the boat.
Also standard on all new Garmin fishfinders is Ultrascroll™,
which allows boaters to get a much faster refresh rate on their
sonar display. The new line of units also have improved
performance in shallow water – as little as a foot deep – that
makes it easier to determine depth, structure, and fish targets.
Auto gain, as well as user adjustable gain, is also standard on
all of Garmin’s new fishfinders.
Humminbird’s New 700 Professional-Grade Fishing Systems
The new 700 Series Fishing Systems from Humminbird give
anglers a myriad of options to choose from to best fit their
individual needs. From in-dash or quick disconnect mounting
options, to dual or quad beam sonar, the 700 Series provides
professional grade sonar equipment that touts a leading edge
resolution (640 vertical pixels) in both color and monochrome.
“Our 700 Series takes fishing system technology to the next
level with dozens of performance enhancements and even greater
expansion capabilities,” said Senior Global Product Manager
Darrell Watt.
All of the 700 Series models are designed to be either
in-dash or gimbal mounted. The footprint of the units allows
them to be mounted in-dash in the same space as most fishfinders
on the majority of today’s boats. The units can also be mounted
outside of the console using Humminbird’s popular tilt and
Swivel Quick Disconnect Mounting System that allows for
adjustable viewing and easy removal.
Both color and monchrome 700 Series models are available. All
units have five-inch diagonal screen that delivers an industry
leading 640 vertical pixels for high-definition sonar images.
The new color screens are adapted form military aircraft
applications and offer “hemispherical” (180-degree viewing left
to right, top to bottom) ultra-wide viewing angles.
Lowrance Electronics, Inc., the leader in recreational sonar
and GPS innovations since 1957, is now bringing multi-device
data communications networking within easy reach of every size
boat and budget with the new complete LowranceNET systems
approach.
Based on the new NMEA 200 standard, the non-proprietary
LowranceNET presents impressive advantages in a marine
electronics-networking package for multi-station sensing and
display of boat systems and engine functions. Chief among unique
LowranceNET advantages are simplicity, ease of installation,
convenience of future “plug and go” expandability, excellent
performance and amazing affordability.
“Now with LowranceNET, any trailer boat can enjoy a marine
electronics networking advantage like that found aboard huge
yachts, but with very little trouble and for a whole lot less
money,” said Bob Callaway, vice president of Lowrance marketing.
The SPIRALCELL® Technology in an OPTIMA is the most advanced
form of lead-acid battery technology on the market today. This
patented technology is designed to be leak-proof, vibration
resistant and maintenance-free while providing customers with
more starting power and a longer cycle life. SPIRALCELL
Technology makes OPTIMA batteries uniquely capable of solving
many of the issues that fishermen face with batteries on a
regular basis.
OPTIMA BlueTop marine batteries are available in a Group 34
starting battery, Group 34 deep cycle battery and a larger Group
31 deep cycle battery. They are designed for those boaters and
fishermen with electric trolling motors, onboard electronics,
stereo systems or those who simply need a sure-starting, strong
cranking, maintenance free battery.
A new generation of sonar flasher technology is about to be
discovered by a new generation of anglers. Flashers deliver a
quick, real-time response to the bottom below and now fishermen
and boaters have the advantage of using break-through technology
found in a new in-dash flasher called the FL-10 from Vexilar.
For over 40 years, Vexilar has been in the marine sonar
business. For the 2003 season, they have announced the
introduction of a totally new and radical looking in-dash sonar
using Vexilar’s reliable sonar technology.
The proven performance of the Vexilar FL-8 and FL-18
three-color sonar flashers dominate the flasher sonar market.
The new FL-10 is going to be a favorite with many fishermen and
boaters looking to replace old, outdated one-color flashers or
slow responding LCD sonar displays.
From the patented Lexan front lens design to give maximum
viewing angle and visibility in sunlight to the patented
super-bright LED’s, the new FL-10 sets new standards for in-dash
sonar technology. The LED display area is 75% larger than other
in-dash flashers and is whisper quiet. With 400 watts of power,
you are able to easily find and track bottom and fish no matter
how fast your boat is running.
Boaters will be glad to know the almost dangerous signal
delay response time found with LCD recorders is gone. For many
years, the most skilled anglers in the world would never go
fishing without their “flashers” and now they are coming back to
this technology with Vexilar being the industry leader in
three-color flasher technology.
Available with two depth ranges of 20, 40 and 200 feet, the
525 segment display resolution lets you see objects like never
before with any other in-dash sonar technology on the market.

Zebco ZF200 Portable Fish Finder
Zebco enters the fish finder market with a truly portable and
the most feature loaded, affordable fish finder ever. The Zebco
ZF200 can be handheld or used with stand, for instant depth and
fish readings from 2 to 99.9 feet. The transducer is mountable,
trollable or floatable, and comes hard-wired (no connection
required) to a 25-foot transducer cable. The transducer’s
ShootThru sonar technology allows readings through a boat’s hull
at speeds up to 45 MPH, or works through the ice. The sonar beam
angle is an extra wide 45 degrees.
The ZF200 has an automatic depth range in feet or meters.
Algorithmic programming reduces false readings. A no-glare,
polarized VirtuView LCD icon display with soft-glow backlighting
allows quality readings in all light conditions. Two-button
easy-touch programming with a quick-reference guide makes
learning and using easy.
Bottom depth readings, fish icons, and weed and bottom
indicators, make signal interpretations quick and simple.
There is a two-stage audible fish alarm. The ZF200 runs off
four AAA batteries (not included) with a 30-hour battery life in
regular mode, or 60 hours in battery-save mode. The unit is
protected by a durable, textured plastic housing, and is water
resistant to IPX4 standards.
