Hank Parker and Al Lindner Want to “Crash Your Club”
Thanks to Minn Kota® and Humminbird®
They are two of the most renowned and skilled
anglers on the planet, and they want to crash your fishing club.
Imagine getting an opportunity to spend a day with either Hank
Parker or Al Lindner along with all your friends in the local
fishing club.
Thanks to a promotion by Minn Kota® and
Humminbird® designed specifically for fishing clubs and members,
Parker and Lindner make up the ultimate grand prize. Called
“Club Crashers,” the promotion simply requires individual
members of fishing clubs to register online for the chance to
win a day with either Parker or Lindner, or the opportunity to
win one of several products from Minn Kota and Humminbird. If
your name is chosen for the grand prize, your fishing club will
host either Hank Parker or Al Lindner for a day’s worth of
activities of your choice. Some of the options include a seminar
by one of the fishing legends, serving as host at the weigh-in
at a tournament or acting as emcee for your club’s
end-of-the-year banquet, among others. In any event, it will be
a great way to promote your club, increase membership, raise
money and, most of all, have fun. The more members who register,
the more chances your club will have to win.
Each individual fishing club member who
registers is also eligible to win Minn Kota trolling motors or
Humminbird fishfinders. In all, the prizes are worth nearly
$15,000. Registering is as easy as logging on to
www.clubcrashers.com
and filling out the appropriate form. All prizes will be awarded
based on random drawings.
For two-time Bassmasters Classic Champion Hank
Parker, working with fishing clubs reminds him of his early days
of fishing. “I became a member of the Lincoln County Bassmasters
when I was 16,” Parker said. “I was able to get out on the water
and compete like everyone else, and it helped me understand
tournament fishing. A lot of people told me how awesome it would
be to win the Bassmasters Classic, but to me it was just as
awesome to win my first club tournament at that point in my
life.”
Parker, host of Hank Parker’s Outdoor
Magazine, also emphasized the important role fishing clubs play
in developing conservation projects and youth programs. “Without
the clubs, there really would be no action, it would all be lip
service,” he noted. “Clubs are responsible for getting important
legislation passed, cleaning waterways and getting youth
programs off the ground.”
A member of the Professional Bass Fishing Hall
of Fame, Al Lindner understands the valuable role fishing clubs
play in improving the techniques of anglers.
“Joining a club is the fastest way possible
for any angler to learn how to become a better fisherman,”
Lindner said. “There’s no better way to advance your skills. Of
course, another benefit is the friendships that come from being
active in a club. Those are friendships that will last a
lifetime.”
Lindner was a top competitor in the early days
of professional bass fishing tournaments and shared his vast
knowledge of fishing by founding the In-Fisherman media empire
with his brother, Ron. Al now hosts the popular television show
Lindner’s Angling Edge.

Even though he is usually the instructor,
Lindner said he continues to learn new techniques and ideas from
the everyday club angler.
“When I get around a bunch of passionate
fishermen, I always learn something,” he said. “I still pick up
information that I am able to share on my television show or in
my magazine articles.”
For Judy Douglas, Director of Marketing –
Marine Electronics Group, the Club Crashers promotion fits
perfectly with the philosophy of parent company Johnson Outdoors
Inc.
“Anything we can do to support and promote
anglers who are advocates of the sport, especially fishing club
members, will enhance opportunities to grow the fishing
industry,” she noted. “We are very fortunate to be partners with
such legends as Hank and Al who undoubtedly will pump a lot of
energy into this fun and productive promotion.”
