West Valley Bass ClubWe are a club
dedicated to the education, environmental protection and sheer
enjoyment of bass fishing to all people who are interested. We
have been in existence since 1971, one of the oldest B.A.S.S.
Federation clubs in Southern California.

Our members are of all ages, boater and
non-boaters, skilled fisherman and novices alike, who simply
enjoy being on the water of the wonderful lakes of California
and Nevada. We are a non-money tournament club where each
month’s weights earn points toward the year-end rankings;
ultimately for the highest honor of Anger of the Year.

All members are friends who enjoy fishing
together as well as enjoying our Saturday night barbeque under
the trees and stars of the lake of choice.
Our 2-day tournaments are held monthly at a different lake
usually on the third weekend of each month. We are a traveling
club meaning that about half of the tournaments are away from
the local Southern California area including our annual trip in
May to Lake Mead where fishing also includes our contributions
to the local Las Vegas community.
The final tournament in December is the Top 10
tournament where the top three finishers get cash for their
efforts. All tournaments include the Big Fish pot which grows
each month unless a fish over 5 pounds is caught. Of course, if
there is no big-fish winner during the season, the last
tournament determines the ultimate pot winner, which could be
only a 1-poound fish!
Our season ends in December with the awards banquet where Rookie
of the Year and Angler of the Year awards are given to the top
performers. The entire club gets together with their significant
others for a complimentary evening of dining, raffle prizes and
cheers.

We have monthly meetings on the second
Wednesday of each month at the Lamplighter Restaurant in Canoga
Park on DeSoto and Nordhoff starting at 7 p.m. Monthly meetings
include the latest updates on the last tournament including
awards, special events, raffles and guest speakers.
Our club is a great way for you to meet new people, make good
friends, learn about fishing techniques as well as the latest
news on tournaments and hot fishing locations. If you have any
questions, feel free to contact anyone in the club, including
myself. We look forward to seeing you at the next meeting or on
the lake!
